Personal Journey at TCS

My journey at TCS began as a fresher in 2019, assigned to an automotive domain project. While my role involved performing automotive validation testing of various ADAS software, it was a rare domain within TCS. My project team consisted of around 1500 to 2000 people, working across three locations. The project was initially monotonous and repetitive, with a reliance on internal tools and a lot of manual labor on Excel.

There was no scope for recognition, and the continuous work on Excel made team members feel demotivated over time. Due to these challenges, I turned to TCS-provided learning platforms like Udemy and LinkedIn Learning to enhance my skills. Concurrently, I prepared my domain-specific skills and created a CV, targeting other companies for better opportunities.

After several months of efforts, I secured interviews with multiple companies. The first interview was challenging, but I learned valuable lessons and improved my approach. In my second attempt, I successfully landed a better-compensated position with another company. This provided a significant 100% hike in my current salary and an opportunity to work on a product-based project.

Although TCS is a reputable company with ample opportunities for growth and learning, my experience was average. The project I was assigned was not very fulfilling, and the political environment in my location was not conducive to a professional work atmosphere.
