VitalCheck Birth Certificate Order Experience: Delays and Incompetence

Have you ever ordered a birth certificate from VitalCheck? If so, you may have experienced the same issues as countless others, including me. In my recent encounters with VitalCheck, I faced a variety of frustrating problems, including misleading cost estimates and extended delays. This article explores my experiences and provides insights for others who may be dealing with similar issues.

My First Encounter with VitalCheck

Recently, I ordered a birth certificate for my 28-year-old son from VitalCheck. Initially, the company assured me that the process would be quick, with expedited service taking only 5 days. However, several hours after placing my order, I received an email stating that it would take until January 2025, which I found ridiculous.

I placed another order for my 10-year-old son, who is also in Arizona. VitalCheck remains the only option for obtaining a birth certificate in the state. Despite following the same process I did for my son, I encountered several issues, including the need to resubmit documentation and the company's lack of customer support options.

Issues with Expedited Service and Cost Estimates

Initially, the expedited service cost $40 with normal shipping. However, shortly after placing my order, the site changed the cost recommendation to overnight expedited shipping for an additional $20 or more. I did not need overnight shipping, as I had already chosen normal shipping. At the end of the process, I was billed $55.00 for a birth certificate, which seemed entirely inappropriate given the stated conditions.

Several weeks after my initial order, I received an email from VitalCheck stating that they needed more documents from me. I resubmitted the same pictures of my driver's license (D.L.) as I had previously sent, but the company still requested additional documentation. This request was made on a Sunday, leaving me unable to contact them until the next business day.

Furthermore, the company lacks a customer service chat and only offers limited FAQs, making it difficult to find answers to common questions. The payment issue was resolved, but I still did not receive my birth certificate for another five days.

Conclusion and Recommendations

Based on my experience, VitalCheck appears to be poorly managed and unreliable. The company consistently changes cost estimates, demands additional documentation unilaterally, and offers limited customer support. If you are considering ordering a birth certificate from VitalCheck, it is crucial to carefully review the process and pricing before proceeding.

It is also advisable to verify the company's reliability through online reviews and customer feedback. Additionally, contacting your state's vital records office is always a good option to ensure you receive the necessary documentation in a timely and efficient manner.
