As an aspirant, the impact of Kota on my life was profound. While the experience was a complex amalgamation of good and bad, it was undoubtedly a transformative phase that led to personal and academic growth.

Transitioning Through Difficult Times

As I embarked on my 11th grade, many of my hostel friends had already taken the path to college, leaving me feeling isolated and alone. The transition from one coaching institute to another, from Vibrant to Reso, symbolized a search for a fresh start. However, this newfound hope was brutally tested. My motivation started to wane, and I found myself going through the motions without any genuine effort. This period of stagnation was a challenging phase indeed.

Resilience and Growth

However, despite the initial struggles, I managed to salvage some valuable lessons and experiences. The friends I made in Kota remained a constant source of support, even as my hostel friends moved on. From these relationships, I gained invaluable wisdom, independence, and a sense of confidence that has stayed with me ever since. Most importantly, I learned that whatever happens in life, I have the strength to face it. The tough situations that used to overwhelm me before no longer hold the same power. This realization has been a significant turning point in my life.

The Role of Krishna and ISKCON

During my time in Kota, my life underwent another transformation. To cope with the intense pressure and negative emotions, I turned to spirituality. Engaging with ISKCON temple sessions and practicing Mantra Japa (mala), I found a sanctuary of peace and confidence. This spiritual practice helped me rebuild myself and focus on achieving excellence in my academic pursuits. My journey through the coaching classes became not just about academics but also about personal growth and resilience.

The Unforgettable Kota Experience

Moving from my home to live in Kota from September 2021 to April 2022, I realized that some of the most indelible experiences came from the basic aspects of the city. Here are some poignant reflections on my time in Kota:

The Business of Education: In Kota, education is a business, and you will find a vast sea of students. While the student-to-student ratio is high, the quality of education is unparalleled. I was part of Allen Sakar Building's ESL1 batch and fell in love with the classes and the management of Allen. It was a remarkable experience that left a lasting impression on me. Student Diversity: Kota accommodates students from various socioeconomic backgrounds. You will find everything from rich students to those who come from economically challenged backgrounds. This diversity adds to the richness of the student life and provides a unique learning environment. Dietary Options: Non-vegetarian options are available near the Opera Hospital, making it easier for those who do not follow a vegetarian diet. However, the options for vegetarians are limited. Hostel owners vary in quality, but I was lucky to find a memorable hostel owner who was attentive to the students' needs and concerns. The Vibe of Kota: Kota has a unique character and vibe. There is an undeniable energy of students running to achieve their aspirations. Each challenge faced in Kota ultimately turned into a lesson that contributed to my overall growth.

While the experience of living and studying in Kota was arduous, it was also profoundly shaping. Some of the most formative periods, not just in academics but also in life, were spent in this small city. The struggles faced there have made me stronger and wiser, and they will continue to be a part of me, as Kota never truly leaves you.
