The Legal Financial Landscape of Trump's Presidency: Unpaid Lawyers and Constant Fundraising
From everything you read, it doesn’t seem that Trump’s current personal lawyers are getting paid during his presidency. In fact, now I see where his one-time lawyer friend, Rudy Giuliani, claims that Trump probably owes him money. It’s only a matter of time before Trump has to begin selling off assets to pay for his legal problems. If I were his wife, I would be looking for a way out of the marriage, especially if he still has money to pay her off. FUCK TRUMP!
You would have to be really stupid to be Trump’s lawyer until you have the full payment in advance and the cheque cleared in the bank. It appears most of the money is coming from campaign donations placed into his Political Action Committee (PAC).
Trump’s Save America Political Action Committee has paid nearly 37 million to more than 60 law firms and individual attorneys since January 2022. According to Federal Election Commission records and an Associated Press analysis of campaign finance filings, this amounts to more than half of the PAC’s total expenditures. That represents a staggering sum compared to other political organizations.
According to the Associated Press, ‘During the first half of 2023, Save America spent more on legal-related costs over 20 million than any other political committee that discloses to the FEC — more than the Republican National Committee, Democratic National Committee, and National Republican Senatorial Committee spent during that period combined.’
Most lawyers don’t get paid. Instead, the money is mostly going to law firms and individuals associated with Trump’s legal team. Some — a very few — are still probably not being paid. Those who are stupid or ambulance-chasing lawyers or think this will bring them fame.
Before the January 6th insurrection and attempted takeover of the government, nearly all of Trump’s lawyers went unpaid. They noticed that their billings were simply ignored and they did not get the money for their energy and work. Over those years, many of them quit, with no public explanation. This was an ongoing occurrence. More than 30 of his attorneys have resigned or 'stepped down' in the past 3 and a half years. One journalist counted 47 attorneys who had quietly left Donald Trump to fend for himself. [‘You are on your own now, douche-bag.’]
Two of Trump’s attorneys suddenly resigned just last week, on January 11 and 15, 2024. If it’s still happening to some degree, then the quality of any replacement attorneys willing to work for Donald Trump tends to ahem, diminish.
We just saw this in Donald Trump’s second trial over his sexual assault charge. The judge threatened to sanction that attorney, who turned out to be a complete embarrassment, even in a local small town courtroom.
Nearly everyone on the planet now knows Donald Trump’s long history of trying to 'stiff' the people who work for him. This includes his attorneys. Trump has been doing that for decades with most of the people he hires. Even his landlords and contractors and those who manage his properties. That includes hundreds of attorneys from his long past.
Today, Trump is constantly fundraising to pay these new attorneys’ bills. Whether it be through sales of MAGA hats, silly tchoskies, ‘virtual trading cards,’ at $99 each, or even his mugshot, which can be downloaded for free from thousands of news sites. His mugshot goes for $189 each. [I offer you the same image at no cost.]
Trump's latest scam is that he is peddling a one-inch fragment or tiny patch of the suit he claims he wore during his fourth criminal arrest. The price? $89.99 for a one-inch piece of fabric. Really? [I happen to be on Trump's mailing list and I received three emails advertising that tiny piece of fabric in the past four days.]
Donald Trump’s followers are not exactly the brightest bulbs in a batch. See the first comment below…
