The Depth of Life: Beyond Money to Family

Well, if life was created without the need for family, we wouldn’t care because we wouldn’t need it. But as long as we do need it, we’ll desire it and we’ll find it. Life without family is like a leafless tree, a shallow life devoid of the richness of emotional connections.

Family and the Meaning of Life

Consider the meaning of life itself. It is subjective and varies from person to person. However, it is widely accepted that a fulfilling life is not just about money but also about relationships, purpose, and personal growth. While money can provide material comfort and security, it cannot offer the emotional support, companionship, and the sense of belonging that family brings. Without close relationships, one may feel lonely and disconnected, leading to a less fulfilling life.

Focusing solely on money can lead to a shallow and unfulfilling existence. Material possessions alone cannot provide long-lasting happiness or purpose. Pursuing personal growth, meaningful relationships, and a sense of purpose can create a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

Life Beyond Choice

Is there a single meaning of life, or is it a personal journey that varies from individual to individual? We are born without a choice. Some individuals have more freedom to live according to their own choices, while others must make more adjustments to fit into society and the environment, thus having fewer choices. The concepts of family, money, morals, ideals, traditions, and religion are relatively new in the grand scheme of human evolution.

Think back to the days of hunter-gatherers before the concept of tribes. Even in those times, humans felt emotions and might have pondered the question, "What is the meaning of life?" They might have formed tribes, worshiped something, and maintained families, inventing tools, domesticating animals, and practicing agriculture. Today, the relevance of many things that were once essential to our ancestors has changed. In modern times, the traditional concept of family is also becoming less relevant. Women are not as dependent on men for resources and safety, and biologically, a few men can support the vast majority of women on Earth.

The Human Condition

Despite these changes, nature doesn't produce an excess of men without a reason. Therefore, as you pursue your own choices, do so with enough compassion towards yourself so that you can still find happiness even if you don't achieve all your goals. The pursuit of meaning and fulfillment is a lifelong journey, and it is essential to maintain a balance between personal aspirations and the values and relationships that enrich your life.

Ultimately, life without family and solely focused on money may provide some material comfort but lacks the emotional support, companionship, and fulfillment that come from close relationships and personal growth. By placing a balanced emphasis on both, you can lead a more fulfilling and meaning-laden life.
