Should America Ponder Another Businessman as President or Opt for Experienced Politicians?

The Disadvantage of Businessmen in Politics

Businessmen often find themselves at a disadvantage when running for President because their business acumen may not translate directly to the complexities of federal governance. The role of President is not akin to that of a business leader. Would you entrust someone solely based on their tenure in Congress to manage a major corporation? The answer is likely no, corroborating that there should be a significant distinction between the two roles.

The Case Against Career Politicians

The presence of career politicians, such as those who have repeatedly held seats in Congress, is rife with issues. Terms should be limited to prevent the same individuals from perpetually holding office, thus stifling innovation and potentially perpetuating problem-solving deficits. The rationale is simple: a career in Congress does not necessarily qualify one for the presidency, nor does it guarantee the ability to run a country effectively.

My preference is always for a businessman who can use money wisely rather than squandering it. Unlike career politicians, who might consider each vote a personal issue, businessmen are more likely to see their involvement as a public service rather than a means to enrich themselves. This distinction is crucial considering that ultimately, the government serves the people.

Donald Trump’s Presidency

While some may criticize the choice of Trump, his presidency demonstrated that it's possible for a businessman to handle the role with impressive results. His focus on national interests and his no-nonsense leadership style won him favor among those who believed in strong, decisive governance. However, his ignorance and arrogance sometimes clouded his judgment, making his presidency a mixed bag. For instance, the persistent opposition from the liberal elite stemmed from their desire for a more hands-off leader who would address past grievances without firm enforcement.

Choosing the Right Businessman for Presidency

When considering another businessman for the presidency, it’s essential to look for someone with the right qualities. One standout choice is Rex Tillerson, Secretary of State under President Trump. As Secretary of State, Tillerson’s presence, confidence, and knowledge were noteworthy. His aptitude for managing complex international relations and strong leadership qualities made him a valuable asset in his position.

While the current political landscape in the United States doesn’t seem to offer an obvious choice for president, the Governor of Oklahoma might be a strong contender. His reputation and personal qualities suggest he could handle the role competently. For other positions, such as Senate or Congress, there’s still room for improvement, and it’s essential to elect individuals who can provide effective and ethical leadership.

In conclusion, while business acumen can be beneficial in running a country, it’s essential to ensure that the individual chosen possesses the necessary political acumen to navigate the complexities of governance. Balancing business expertise with political wisdom is the key to effective leadership at the highest level.
