Quick and Delicious: My Favorite 15-Minute Meals
Let me preface this by saying that virtually never happens. I plan ahead always. If I was stuck somewhere and had to prepare something in 15 minutes it would depend on what ingredients I had to work with. Trying to cook in 15 minutes is like trying to shave in 15 seconds. It isn’t going to be pretty.
Favorite 15-Minute Burgers
My favorite 15-minute meal is a burger. It’s the fastest thing to make if you have ground patties, cheese, and bread. Here’s how you do it:
Warm up a pan on low heat. Place a chunk of butter or olive oil in the pan. Place the patty in the pan and warm it up. If it is frozen, turn the heat up a bit. I’m guessing the patty is frozen if this is a fast meal. Turn the patty on each side until it’s warm and the meat is no longer frozen. Add a bit of salt and garlic salt to taste. When you start seeing red juices coming out of the burger, place some cheese on top. Add the buns to the pan to toast them. Make sure the buns don’t touch the burger juice or you’ll have a soggy burger. The burger and the buns should be done together when the cheese melts, then assemble. If you don’t have these ingredients, you can always cook some eggs. Crack some eggs in a pan on medium heat. When the egg whites are almost cooked, add the cheese and flip the eggs. If you do it right, the yolk should be almost cooked. As a plus, you can cook up some protein before you make the eggs, such as spam.
Mac and Cheese with Tuna and Peas
Mac and cheese with tuna and peas is another quick meal I love. It’s more like 10 minutes:
Start with a frozen mac and cheese. Add a little pouch of chunk tuna. Chop some celery and add frozen petite peas. Zap it in the microwave for 10 minutes.Alfredo Pasta
If you’re a pasta fan, Alfredo pasta out-of-a-jar is a quick and easy option. It typically takes only 15-20 minutes from start to finish. Here’s a quick guide:
Prepare all ingredients ahead of time to save time. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Add Alfredo sauce, and mix well. Enjoy your quick and delicious pasta.Time-Saving Tips for Cooking
Cooking fast is not the only thing; taste is more important. I love chicken, so I made this recent recipe that nearly took 20 minutes to come out very delicious. Remember, the key to quick but tasty meals is to have your ingredients prepped and ready to go.
Whether it’s a burger, a meal made with frozen mac and cheese, or a quick Alfredo pasta, these 15-minute meals are great for when you’re in a rush. Happy cooking!
