Personal Struggles and Insights: My SBI Clerk Pre-Exam 2023

Yes, I didn't take part in the SBI Clerk exam in 2023, but I had a close friend who did. He attempted 60 out of 100 questions, maintaining accuracy and selecting questions carefully. For me, the experience was a lot less favorable. I managed to attempt only 62 questions, which was a far cry from the ideal score.

Language Comprehension - My Weakest Section

My experience with the English section, particularly the Reading Comprehension (RC) part, was not good. I attempted only 22 questions, the section I find the most challenging. The RC questions were particularly difficult, and I struggled to grasp the context and nuances of the passages. My performance in the reading comprehension section further highlights the need to improve my approach towards such sections.

Mathematics and Data Interpretation

In the mathematics section, I managed to attempt 20 questions. However, I got stuck in data interpretation (DI). Despite knowing the concepts and methods, I couldn't solve the problems quickly or accurately. The arithmetic section was a bit better, but I couldn't attempt more because I had to leave them for later. The time management was a challenge, and it's something I need to work on.

Reasoning Ability and Their Pitfalls

The reasoning ability section was relatively easy, with 20 questions. However, I found myself disappointed as I struggled with a puzzle and a seating arrangement problem. It's common to face such challenges in this section, but what made it worse was that when I tried to correct my answers, I got even more perplexed. The panic that set in during the exam is something I need to overcome. I believe I solved the correct answers, but the discrepancies in my answers during the exam were puzzling to me. By the time I could solve the problems, I had lost confidence and faced a panic attack.

The experience was the worst I've had, filled with disappointment and self-doubt. If I didn't get the right answers, I blamed myself and wondered why I got panicked during the exam. Understanding why I got the wrong answers and solving more practice questions to improve makes me realize that there is still a lot of work to do before I can confidently take the SBI Clerk exam once again.

I've come to the conclusion that clearing this year's SBI Clerk exam is unlikely. However, I'm determined to prepare more and more for the SBI PO (Probationary Officer) exam in the coming years. The experience was tough, but it taught me a valuable lesson about the importance of time management, careful selection of questions, and managing exam anxiety. I hope to improve my skills and mindset in the coming months, and I'm excited to see how I can perform in the next round of exams.

Ultimately, this experience has been an eye-opening one, and I believe it will help me prepare better for my future exams. The road ahead might be challenging, but with hard work and determination, I'm confident that I will achieve my goals.
