Navigating Life's Journey: Life Goals, Career Choices, and Balancing Family
At 23, I am still exploring my life goals and what I would like to accomplish in the future. Similarly, at 31, I find myself in a similar struggle. Life feels uncertain, and I often wonder about my path ahead. The desire to follow my heart while considering the practicalities of life is both exciting and daunting.
Feeling Lost and Afraid
For many, the fear of making life-changing decisions can be overwhelming. At the age of 31, with the situation in Nepal, I am hesitant to leave the country for educational or career opportunities abroad. The fear of never returning, of losing the comfort of familiar surroundings and the support of my family, makes the thought of leaving even more daunting.
My desire to be near my parents and my only grandmother is significant. Losing my grandmother was a deeply painful experience, as I was unable to see her one last time while in Bangalore attending my finals. This event has had a lasting impact on me, underscoring the value of being present for important moments in life.
Material vs. Emotional Priorities
Money is not my top priority; rather, it is about being present when the need arises. When my father's health took a turn for the worse, I was filled with fear and regret at not being there to support him through tough times. This experience has taught me that presence is priceless and more meaningful than material possessions.
Currently, the only things I value are the essentials of life, like simple meals cooked at home. The financial burden of supporting my child and running a struggling business is a constant source of stress. Being solely responsible for raising my son and managing a business that is not yielding steady income is both a challenge and a source of pride.
Challenges and Choices
Working a regular 9-5 job is not an option for me. The financial and emotional burden of leaving my child in the care of others is too great, and the job market in Nepal does not offer regular salaries for a stable income. This leaves me with the choice to either struggle with the uncertainty of the business or seek alternative paths that align with my values.
My life is often filled with protests and struggles, but I remain hopeful. Despite the challenges, I find solace in praying to a higher power. I believe in the strength of faith and the importance of perseverance. It is crucial to stay strong, work hard, and never lose hope, no matter where life takes us.
Reflecting on the journey of others and the challenges they face may provide us with helpful insights and motivation. No matter how tough life gets, staying committed to your goals and values is essential. Keep working hard, stay positive, and never forget the importance of family in your life's journey.
Life is tough for many, but it is also filled with moments of joy and fulfillments. Stay strong, keep working hard, and always have faith. We will get through this together.
