NEET 2022 Success Story: My 2nd and 4th Attempt

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a highly competitive exam in India, and many aspirants require multiple attempts to clear it. In this article, we tells the stories of two individuals who struggled through two and four attempts, respectively, before achieving success.

First Attempt: My 2021 NEET Experience

For my first attempt at NEET in 2021, my scores were a mix of success and disappointment. I scored a total of 537, securing a rank of 55,648. My performance in Physics was particularly concerning, as I barely managed to score 53/61, a score that left me disappointed and perhaps less prepared for the exam pressure.

Second Attempt: Improving with Focus on Physics

My second attempt in 2022 saw a significant improvement. My total score increased to 638, with a rank of 7,177. This improvement was largely due to a focused effort on Physics, where my score doubled to 160/180. Despite not experiencing a drastic increase, the improvement was encouraging, as it improved my chances of securing a good college in my state.

Summary of Previous Attempts

The stories of my previous attempts in NEET from 2020 to 2021 reveal the challenges of consistent improvement. My first NEET attempt in 2020, before I started self-studying, resulted in a score of 508, and although I studied for 10-12 hours a day in 2021, a full year of hard work, my overall score was 587. Unfortunately, I did not secure a seat due to my general category status. However, the 2022 attempt marked a significant improvement, with a total score of 617, reflecting a strong focus on Physics and a slight weakening in Biology, where I lost some marks.

Insights for Future Aspirants

(1) Rectify Your Mistakes : Identifying and rectifying your mistakes is crucial for improvement in academic tests. (2) Balance Strong and Weak Subjects : While it is important to focus on weak subjects, strong subjects should be given more revision and should not be neglected. (3) Prioritize Self-study and Quality over Quantity : Although hard work is essential, the quality of study often plays a more significant role in success.

Third and Fourth Attempts:

Another author's journey is equally compelling. This author's NEET attempts of 2020, 2021, and 2022 reveal a consistent effort to improve. Starting in 2020, with a modest score of 293, their subsequent attempts in 2021 and 2022 saw considerable improvement. In 2021, they managed a score of 409, which improved to 494 in 2022. Despite a less than ideal score in Chemistry, they remain optimistic about their future.

Conclusion

While the journey to success through NEET can be arduous, it is achievable with dedication and persistence. The stories of first and fourth attempters demonstrate the importance of consistent effort and the ability to cope with pressure, even if results are not immediate. By learning from past failures and focusing on improvement, one can achieve success in exams like NEET.
