My Journey: Preparing for SBI Clerk 2019 and My Success

I have been preparing for banking and insurance exams for over a year. Initially, my goal was to clear the SBI Clerk role, but it turned out to be just the beginning of my journey. Ultimately, I cleared the SBI PO and LIC AAO, but the road was not without its challenges and lesser-known detours.

A Little Background Info

I am a Commerce graduate and started my preparation for banking and insurance exams in February or March 2019. Prior to this period, I had taken a few other exams, but those were casual and not adequately prepared. My first attempt at a serious banking exam was the SBI Junior Assistant (SBI JA) 2019, which I successfully cleared. Following that, I also cleared the SBI PO 2019 and LIC AAO 2019. A detailed account of my preparation and strategies can be found in my profile if you are interested.

SBI Clerk 2019 Preparation

Contrary to popular belief, I was not preparing exclusively for the SBI Clerk exam. I was primarily preparing for the SBI PO exam and the LIC AAO. Since the SBI Clerk exams were scheduled in between, I decided to give it a shot as well. My approach was a mix of targeted and general preparation. For the Preliminary stage, I focused on the SBI PO syllabus, but I also attempted around 4-5 mocks from Oliveboard to gain a sense of the exam's speed and accuracy.

SBI JA Mains and the Parallel Preparations

My primary focus shifted to the SBI JA Mains right before the exam, as I had the next expiration date coming closer. However, I was also preparing for the interview of the LIC AAO, which was scheduled a week after the SBI JA Mains. The interview was my first, and I devoted a significant amount of time and energy to it. I had to arrange all the necessary documents and ensure I was fully prepared. Unfortunately, due to this intense focus on the interview, I had to cover less GA content for the Mains exam. My only preparation for GA was the material I had studied for the SBI PO Mains a few weeks before, and I could only attempt around 2-3 mocks in this period.

My SBI JA 2019 Mains Scorecard

Despite the above challenges, I managed to secure a respectable score in the SBI JA Mains 2019. Here are the details of my scorecard:
