Becoming a stay-at-home spouse is a choice that comes with its own unique set of responsibilities and joys. For me, this change has brought about a more fulfilling and balanced life. With my husband still working full-time and planning to retire in a year or two, my days are filled with a variety of activities and duties that keep me busy and content.

Waking Up and Morning Routine

Life as a stay-at-home spouse starts with a leisurely morning routine. Instead of rushing out of the door, I wake up with my husband and enjoy a peaceful start to the day. We sit together and savor our morning coffee, discussing the latest news and sharing thoughts about our day ahead. The warmth of the morning sun and the melodious sounds of nature provide a soothing backdrop to our conversations. By the time he leaves for work, we have already connected and set a positive tone for the day.

Managing Domestic Duties and Responsibilities

While my husband is out, I take on the full responsibility of managing the household. This includes handling our bills, taxes, and any shopping or errands that need attending. I’m also responsible for organizing medications and making necessary phone calls to doctors, pharmacies, and insurance companies to ensure everything is in order. Daily life may seem mundane, but these tasks are crucial and require careful attention.

Preparing a Welcome Home Meal

When my husband arrives home, a warm and inviting meal is waiting. Being able to cook delicious home-cooked meals or order our favorite take-out ensures that we both have a delightful and stress-free evening. This simple act of preparation allows me to greet him with a smile and a genuine ‘Hi honey, how was your day’. Instead of complaining about the day, we enjoy each other’s company and catch up over a show we both enjoy, often holding hands and maintaining the close bond that sustains our relationship.

Between my husband and my three kids, my days are often packed with various tasks and responsibilities. Additionally, I manage my distributorship with Itworks Global, ensuring that my business operations run smoothly.
