Many of us have a curious mind from a young age that drives us towards certain career paths. For someone like myself, the spark was ignited during my childhood visits to my grandparents' farm. The contrast between knowing about a 500 kV transmission power line passing nearby and the lack of electricity at their home raised a flood of questions in my young mind. It was a passion for understanding these complexities that led me to pursue a career in engineering.
Understanding Engineering's Appeal
Engineering isn't just about solving problems; it's about making a meaningful difference in the world. My father, brother, and I all had our own paths, and it was their influence and passion that guided me into my field of expertise. Being a civil engineer, a mechanical engineer, and later an aeronautical and astronautical engineer, we all found joy in our work. This journey through engineering has been filled with innovation, problem-solving, and the satisfaction of seeing ideas turn into reality.
The Fascination of Engineering
My engineering journey began with a deep interest in nuclear physics. However, after my freshman year at MIT, I realized my true passion lay in applied physics and engineering. My fascination with airplanes and rockets started young, and it only grew as I progressed through my education.
I pursued my undergraduate and graduate education in aero-astronautical engineering at MIT, where I had the opportunity to assist leading US companies in the development of military aircraft, helicopters, and cruise missiles. My specialty is in structural mechanics and dynamics, focusing on weight-efficient structures.

When it comes to engineering, the fields are vast and diverse. Civil engineering involves design and construction of structures that interface with the ground or water, such as airports. However, after earning his Masters at MIT, he decided to pivot his career to model the money market for investment bankers in Manhattan.
