Feeling Euphoric After SSC CGL 2019 Tier 1 Results: A Journey of Luck and Uncertainty
Feeling Euphoric After SSC CGL 2019 Tier 1 Results: A Journey of Luck and Uncertainty
I was very confident after attempting the Tier 1 exam on March 4 of the second shift. I had solved all the math questions with hope for 100% accuracy. However, after a detailed analysis of the number of attempted questions by YouTube channels, my shift was predicted to be one of the toughest. Initially, I was expecting a raw score between 165-170.
On July 7, while scrolling through Quora, I received a message stating that I must have scored more than 200. After a few attempts, the website finally opened and showed a score of 207.8. It was an incredible feeling! This euphoria lasted for around 2-3 hours before I realized that it was just Tier 1, and there were still more challenges ahead, such as the Tier 2 delay, the uncertainty of Tier 3, and the court case along with the impact of the pandemic.
Tier 2 and Beyond: Current Dilemma and Future Aspirations
Well, I feel good and a bit lucky. My raw score was 593 out of 600 till Tier 2 in SSC CGL 2018. This score made me pretty confident about a decent job, and I didn't think I would attempt SSC CGL 2019 Tier 1. However, I filled the application form, and it proved to be a wise decision. Construction work started on February 2, and I packed all my books in a carton that I haven't unpacked yet as the construction work continues.
On February 26, the result of SSC CHSL 2018 Tier 2 was released, and everything changed. New cases of UFM (Unbiased Fatigue Mindset) started emerging, casting a bleak picture of our future. My exam date for SSC CGL 2019 Tier 1 was March 6, with my second shift. I attempted 96 questions, achieving a raw score of 174.5. I was on cloud nine as I hadn't studied for the Tier 1 exam exclusively. My books were packed, and when the result was declared, my name appeared in all three lists, a blessing I was feeling very lucky about.
My normalized score was around 190 when the score card was released. Currently, I am in a dilemma. I am considering preparing for the UPSC exams, but the uncertainty surrounding UFM makes it challenging to start. Meanwhile, I won't be able to prepare for the SSC CGL 2019 Tier 2 exam if I get selected in SSC CGL 2018. The construction work at my home is expected to be completed this week, providing a much-needed relief. Only the future can tell what lies ahead.
Conclusion
Despite the challenges and uncertainties, I am grateful for this experience. It reminds me of the importance of preparation and the joy of achieving success. The road ahead is uncertain, but I will continue to take one step at a time, hoping for the best.
