Experiences and Insights from the 2021 IBPS RRB Clerk Mains Exam
Experiences and Insights from the 2021 IBPS RRB Clerk Mains Exam
I donrsquo;t take exams, but Irsquo;m here to help you with any information or questions you have about the IBPS RRB Clerk Mains 2021 exam. Being very confident after giving the main exams, I attempted 110 questions and scored 102 marks. This article provides an in-depth look into my experience, along with some key tips and insights from taking this exam.
Confidence and Preparation
I was very confident after the main exams and brought this confidence to the Clerk Mains. This is one of the most expensive mock tests, and itrsquo;s no wonder given the high competition. Earning an 80/80 score with full accuracy is a tremendous achievement. However, donrsquo;t let this scare you! The main point is that the real exam is only as difficult as your preparation.
Exam Experience and Tips
The venue was AN Engineering College in the southern tip of India. Since it was far from my home, my father and I stayed a day before the exam. Going early and arriving well in advance is crucial. It ensures you have a fresh mindset and are not drowsy from an early morning travel.
The exam began at 10 AM. Here are some insights from each section of the exam:
General Awareness (GA)
Score: 19.25/50
As I had already prepared for the GA section for IBPS PO, I just revised it for this exam. In most competitive exams, General Awareness is a challenging section for many aspirants. I avoided guessing and answered only the questions I was certain about. I managed to answer 23 questions correctly, scoring 19.25. The key is to gauge the paper well and attempt wisely.
English Language
Score: 27.50/40
I found the English section more difficult compared to the PO exam. Instead of trying new methods, I used an elimination method to quickly answer the questions. I aimed for 100% accuracy on the questions I attempted. Scoring 27.50 in this section shows the importance of precision and confidence in the questions you attempt.
Logical Reasoning
Score: 22.75/60
This section was moderate. I tackled the miscellaneous questions first and then moved to the puzzles based on my strengths. I felt satisfied with this section as the complicated ones did not go my way, but I completed the questions I was strong in. This strategy was key to my performance.
Quantitative Aptitude (Quant)
Score: 14.50/60
The Quant section was relatively easy, but I made a mistake in one of the Data Interpretation (DI) questions, which took a lot of time. I quickly regained my rhythm and attempted other questions. This part of the exam highlighted the importance of time management and not getting stuck on one question.
Overall, the paper was moderate, not as easy as previous yearsrsquo; papers. My preparation, including the practice with mock tests, helped me analyze the paper well and attempt questions based on their difficulty level.
Final Thoughts and Advice
Consider every mock test as your main exam and practice accordingly. Always skim the paper first and start with your strengths to build confidence. The exam provides an opportunity to showcase your skills, so be prepared, stay confident, and approach each section strategically.
