Discovering the True Self: A Journey of Inner Enlightenment

First, congratulations! This is a profound reason for our existence in this realm. We are planted in the soil and earth where we are meant to grow, blossom, bear spiritual fruit, and spread that beauty and wonder, ultimately transcending this experience.

The path to enlightenment and ultimate liberation lies in the inward journey. Truly, all the wisdom of the cosmos is hidden within our heart. We need only to quiet ourselves and begin that inner journey into our heart, for there lies the truth we are seeking. Namaste'

Neti Neti: The Process of Self-Realization

To discover our true self, who we are, and ultimately achieve self-realization, we must first understand who we are not. The term 'Neti Neti' from the scriptures means 'not this, not that.' When we realize we are not the body, which arrived later after 9 months in the womb, and eventually will return to dust, and that we cannot locate the mind, the ego, therefore, has no real existence. We exist as the Divine Soul.

The Journey to a Deeper Level of Self-Discovery

The journey to discovering our true self is as meaningful as your question itself. When did you first hear the word 'self,' and what did it mean to you then? Desiring to understand our true self goes beyond words and beliefs. Here are some steps to embark on this journey:

Desire Above All Else: Let your desire to discover your true self be the most profound wish in your life. Make Space in Your Belief System: Allow room for belief in the potential of self-realization. Remove External Validation: Stop seeking validation from the three worlds of personality and start defining yourself as the user of all forms. Be Still and Alone: Create time for solitude so that only your self is present. Aim for at least one such moment each day. See Yourself as a Center: Imagine yourself living in the center of your head, where spirit touches the body.

The Beauty of Silence

When we see ourselves as the infinite, the infinite does the seeing. This seeing is beyond words, language, knowing, and thinking. It happens when thought stops, in the moments between thoughts on the sidelines of thought. Simply ask, 'What am I without language?' Look at the blankness that is there. When thought is not looking, the blankness is the silence of the infinite—everything.
