College Transformation: How It Changed My Life for the Better

I am currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree through online schooling. My experience with in-person college was quite different; it was incredibly boring, and I struggled to focus. The classroom environment didn't suit me well, and my academic performance was poor. This led me to make a significant change—switching to online education. In doing so, I found a balance that allowed me to study when convenient, while also enjoying the freedom to live my own life.

Online education has proven to be one of the best decisions I've made. I've already landed a scholarship, and my academic performance has improved dramatically. This is especially true for those who want to pursue an education without the constraints of traditional in-person college. It allows for flexibility, which can be crucial for students who need to balance their studies with other responsibilities.

My Journey and Observations

Since starting my college journey, I have noticed many positive changes and transformations. Prior to college, I lived in a village and attended a nearby CBSE-affiliated school up to class 10. Due to the advent of the pandemic, my studies shifted online. This period was mostly dedicated to academic pursuits, with limited social interaction and exploration.

After class 10, I chose to go to Kota for a year of intensive preparation for the JEE examination. That period was focused on rigorous studies and personal growth, but with minimal social interaction, leading to a significant change in personality. I became an introvert, dedicated solely to my studies and with very little female interaction. However, the transition to college brought a significant shift in my life.

College life has opened up a world of possibilities for me. I have started exploring many new things, including giving interviews for various clubs, such as the Union of Business Associations (UBA). I also volunteered at a blood donation camp and participated in many club introduction talks. Prior to college, initiating conversations was a challenge for me. However, now I actively try to engage with others, which has become a natural part of my routine. I even tried stand-up comedy for the first time during the Freshers' week.

Furthermore, my screen time has significantly reduced since I started college. Previously, I spent most of my time watching YouTube videos and studying. Now, my time is divided between academic subjects and exploring extracurricular activities, learning new things, and interacting with people. This change has allowed me to develop a more balanced lifestyle.

Professional Growth and Engagement

Another rewarding experience during my college life has been my work with Cognizance, the annual technical fest of IIT Roorkee. The fest is scheduled to take place on March 24-26 this year. Being part of such a prestigious event has been an exciting opportunity to engage with peers, learn new skills, and contribute to the fest's success.

Conclusion

In short, college has been a transformative experience for me. It has not only improved my academic performance but also helped me grow personally and professionally. The journey of exploring new things and interacting with people has been enriching, and I feel grateful for the opportunities presented by online education and the supportive environment of college life.
