Beyond the Professional: Unveiling the Real You
Who are you apart from your professional life?
A profession does not define you; it is your character that truly defines you. So, whether you have a passion and a good character to exhibit, the choice to follow a profession or not does not make a difference. My journey is a testament to how a career is just one aspect of a multifaceted self.
A Caring, Creative, and Curious Empath
My name is Nabarun Mondal, and I am much more than a name to my loved ones. I am a caring, creative, and curious individual who believes in understanding the world from multiple perspectives.
A Chartered Accountant with Economic Constraints
After completing my 12th grade, I decided to move towards becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA). However, due to the family's financial situation, my mother chose to use the limited funds to support my sister's education. She believed that if my sister learned an independent profession, she would be safeguarding her future.
Despite understanding my mother's choices, I knew deep down that it was not the right course for me. The coaching center was excellent in convincing them of its benefits, but after I completed my studies, they absconded, leaving my mother with a heavy financial burden. The money saved for my CA was instead used for my sister's education, which was a devastating decision.
Financial Struggles and a Career Shift
Following this, my family's financial situation plummeted even more. With no other choice, I quit my studies and began searching for online jobs. Fortunately, I found some online opportunities and now earn between 3000 to 5000 INR per week, sometimes even up to 10,000 INR. However, the income is barely enough to pay the interest on my family's debt.
Learning and Growing
Apart from my profession, I am an ever-learning, avid reader, and passionate writer. I believe in acquiring as much knowledge as possible. I contribute to Quora in both English and Hindi, and my experiences on writing platforms like YourQuotes have shown me that I can write well and enjoy the process. I am creative and more of a dreamer, always planning and contemplating things from various angles.
Self-Experimentation and Travel
Over the years, I have transformed considerably from the person my best friends recognized five to eight years ago. I am someone who constantly experiments with new experiences. Traveling has taught me that I am not a good trekker, but I thoroughly enjoy exploring new places.
I am self-motivated and have gone through rock-bottom moments multiple times before turning 30. Yet, each time I fell, I picked myself up and continued moving forward. I love exploring new things, such as influencers, writers, artists, teaching methods, digital marketing, and new products. I am a strong-willed woman with a shaken willpower. I believe I can do anything if I want it, but achieving my true desires is a long journey.
Daily Self-Discovery
At this stage, I am constantly trying to understand myself. Every day, I search for my true self until I find my purpose. Once I know my 'why,' I am certain there will be no stopping. Until then, I will continue this journey of self-discovery.
My story is not unique, but it is a reminder that our professional lives are just a small part of who we are. The real self is the one we create through our actions, thoughts, and interactions with the world around us.
