I graduated from a 3-year Occupational Therapy BS/MS program at Touro College. The program’s competitive nature with only about 10% acceptance rate reflects the high standards of the institution. The teaching faculty varied from fair to excellent, with most being good or excellent. The field work experiences were generally positive, and support was provided during these placements. However, some classes like physical disabilities could have better prepared us for the hands-on parts of the fieldwork.

The program administrators were attentive and listened to class representatives regarding various concerns, ensuring a responsive and supportive administration. There were numerous opportunities for working with faculty and in research, which I highly value. Regarding the degree mill issue, I believe it is no longer a concern. While it tarnished the college’s reputation, it does not reflect the quality of individual programs or their value in the marketplace. In the case of Occupational Therapy, the program is highly regarded and offers excellent value in terms of both price and quality compared to other programs in the NYC metropolitan area.
