Ariporium: Reflections on the 2017 SBI PO Exam Experience
Promises, Promises and SBI PO Exam Anxiety
Sitting in the exam hall on the day of the SBI PO exam in 2017 certainly transported me back to a nostalgic yet anxious moment. I remember promising myself not to laugh at the surreal scene before my eyes.
The Exam Hallscope
Imagine a room filled with tens of thousands of individuals, engrossed in the same fate, solving finance equations or linguistic puzzles within a limited timeframe. Neatly stacked rows of exam halls became my temporary home, and I am here to share my insights.
The English Section
The English section was either a breeze or a battlefield, depending on the perspective. For me, it was the battlefield. Time seemed to pass agonizingly slow as I frantically searched for questions within my comfort zone. Each question felt as if it was reaching beyond my grasp, like an elusive dragon in a fairytale.
The LR and Quant Section Extravaganza
And then came the logical reasoning and quantitative aptitude sections. To be precise, these sections tested my abilities to the absolute maximum. The questions on the screen seemed to embody the complexity of a Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, with every level containing its share of peculiar puzzles.
Amid the Stalled Competition
As I gazed around the hall, a peculiar scene unfolded before my eyes. My fellow candidates, scattered across the rows, appeared as motionless as statues. It was like a silent film, with only the ticking of the watch and the trembling of papers to fill the quiet. The coordination between the candidates felt more like a coordinated robotic performance than human interaction.
The Grimmer Part
The grimmest part of the exam was the Data Interpretation (DI) and Data Analysis sections. They seemed to have taken direct inspiration from the terrifying episodes of a haunted house. I fumbled through the questions, searching for the easiest one, but all of them seemed to be designed for headache-induced quizzes. It was a true test of willpower and resilience.
Analyst's Reflections
Reflecting back, the 2017 SBI PO exam was indeed a formidable challenge, far from the smooth sailing expected by many. While the General Awareness section brought some solace with its questions on recent events, the reasoning ability and English sections required a higher level of preparation. The level of difficulty was significant, aligning with the legacy of SBI as a leading lender.
A Call to Action
It's important to stay focused and prepared for future exams, especially in a field as competitive as banking. While the challenges seemed insurmountable, what I can say is: Better to tackle the storm head-on than to be engulfed by it.
